Frederick Leonard was born on May 1, 1976, in Nnewi, a town in Anambra State. He is the first of two children. Frederick Leonard had his primary and secondary school in Lagos State.

He had his primary education at St Peter’s Anglican School, Ikeja, and proceeded to Oregun High School for his secondary education.

In 2008, he graduated from Kaduna State Polytechnic with an HND in Biochemistry. Frederick Leonard had already started acting while in the university and had to juggle acting and schooling.
